Mayor Brown wins ceremonial cornhole throwdown
Even though it was all in great fun, Mayor Brown can proudly claim the title of the best cornhole-pitching mayor in, well, all of Bradenton and Palmetto. He and Palmetto Mayor Shirley Groover Bryant participated in a ceremonial pitch at the American Cornhole World Championships held last weekend at the Bradenton Area Convention Center.
It was not a small competition – over 600 competitors from 30 states participated! Mayors Brown and Bryant were allowed to bring a special guest with them to participate in the pitch – Mayor Bryant brought Miss Florida Leah Roddenberry, who is from Bradenton. Mayor Brown brought Marty the Marauder.
