Did Chrissy Metz get a holiday proposal from boyfriend Bradley Collins? She was photographed wearing a big diamond on her ring finger, causing engagement buzz.

This is us….as an engaged couple? That’s what Chrissy Metz seemed to show by sporting a big diamond ring on her left ring finger while shopping with her boyfriend — and possible fiance — Bradley Collins in Los Angeles on Jan 7. The This Is Us star wore a black dress and matching trainers, and her left hand featured a gold band with a diamond on it, which was clearly visible in these photos. HollywoodLife.com has reached out to Chrissy’s rep about whether or not she and Bradley are engaged.

Interestingly enough, Chrissy was already sporting a diamond ring on that finger when she made Bradley Instagram official on Oct. 3, 2020, which was National Boyfriend Day. She shared a selfie of the couple — along with other cute shots including them going for soft serve ice cream — and the ring was clearly visible in the first photo from the set.

The 40-year-old wrote in the caption, “Happy #nationalboyfriendday to my dreamboat! Bradley, from the first moment I laid eyes on you I wanted and needed to know you. Now I feel so lucky to love you. You can #Collinsmesmitten for sure!” she wrote with a cute pun, adding “Thank you for being the absolute wonder that you are, I love you.”

Nashville native Bradley revealed in an IG post on Chrissy’s birthday that the couple had their first date in May 2020, somehow coming together amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He also used an adorable pun, showing how perfect the pair is together. “Happy Birthday to my love, Chrissy,” he shared on IG on Sept. 29, 2020 next to a selfie of the pair in front of a pool.

“From our first date in May, you’ve had me #Metzmerized with love, laughter and kindness. You’re not the best thing that’s happened during quarantine; you’re the best that’s ever happened to me. I love you. You the Best!” he added. The couple just celebrated Christmas and New Years together, as evidenced in IG photos they shared, looking so loved up on both holidays.

Chrissy previously dated music composer Hal Rosenfeld, with their breakup reports coming in Aug. 2020, just a few months before making Bradley Instagram official as her boyfriend. But by then, Chrissy said her relationship with Hal had long since expired. She posted an IG story on Aug. 25 of a news article reporting that she and Hal had just split up. Chrissy then wrote, “For the record, we actually broke up almost two years ago…can’t believe everything you read,” across the image, adding the hashtag #LateToTheParty.”

Chrissy and Hal started dating in Nov. 2018, and what was believed to be a nearly two year relationship was actually more like a matter of months according to the NBC star. She made him red carpet official quickly, taking Hal as her date to the Jan. 2019 Golden Globe Awards. She then shared and adorable beach photo of them together later that month with the caption, “You’ll never know dear how much I miss you.” Chrissy has been married once, to journalist Martyn Eaden from 2008 through 2015.

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski calls on Trump to resign, questions her future with GOP

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R, called on President Trump to resign Friday and questioned her future within the Republican Party.

“I want him to resign. I want him out. He has caused enough damage,” Murkowski said in an interview, according to the Anchorage Daily News

“I think he should leave. He said he’s not going to show up. He’s not going to appear at the inauguration. He hasn’t been focused on what is going on with COVID,” she said. “He’s either been golfing or he’s been inside the Oval Office fuming and throwing every single person who has been loyal and faithful to him under the bus, starting with the vice president,” she continued. “He needs to do the good thing, but I don’t think he’s capable of doing a good thing,” she said.

Murkowski is the first Republican to call on Trump to resign, though Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., said he might support articles of impeachment. and Rep. Adam Kinzinger, Ill., has called for invocation of the 25th Amendment.

HOUSE DEMS MAY INTRODUCE ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT MONDAY

The Alaska Republican said she would “sincerely question” her Republican status if the party continued to align itself with President Trump. Murkowski lost her Republican primary in 2010 to a Tea Party challenger. After the loss, she continued her campaign as a  write-in candidate, where her name had to be spelled correctly to count, and eventually won re-election.

“Well, you know, there’s a lot of people who actually thought that I did that in 2010, think that I became an independent,” she said. “I didn’t have any reason to leave my party in 2010. I was a Republican who ran a write-in campaign and I was successful. But I will tell you, if the Republican Party has become nothing more than the party of Trump, I sincerely question whether this is the party for me.”

Murkowski first drew the disdain of the president when she, along with Sen. Susan Collins, R-Me., came out in opposition to filling the vacancy left by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg less than two months before the presidential election.

Murkowski said that while “there may have been many, many, many, many good Americans who came to Washington, D.C., because they felt strongly in support of this president,” she said Trump’s refusal to accept the presidential results incited supporters to storm the Capitol.

“I will attribute it to the president,” she said. “Even after his vice president told him that morning, ‘I do not have the constitutional authority to do what you have asked me to do. I cannot do it. I have to protect and uphold the Constitution.’ Even after the vice president told President Trump that, he still told his supporters to fight. How are they supposed to take that? It’s an order from the president. And so that’s what they did. They came up and they fought and people were harmed, and injured and died,” Murkowski said.

PELOSI SAYS SHE SPOKE TO GEN. MILLEY ABOUT PROTECTING NUCLEAR CODES FROM TRUMP

Murkowski said she was disappointed Republicans lost the Senate majority  n Georgia, where this week Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock beat out Former Sen. David Perdue and Sen. Kelly Loeffler.

“I think that that was another area where I think you can look directly to President Trump. … That was very, very, very unfortunate,” she said.

After the Senate split 50-50, with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris offering a tie-breaking vote, all eyes will be on moderate lawmakers like Murkowski, whose swing votes could sway policy, along with Sen. Susan Collins, R-Me., Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V., and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz.

Murkowski said she’s in frequent communication with Manchin.

“We’ve talked a lot. In fact, my 3 o’clock call is with Joe and with a bipartisan group of colleagues that are really concerned about where we are, and how we move forward,” she said.

“I think I am including myself as part of a group of members that wants to work to try to bring things together in the Senate and wants to try to get some business done,” the senator continued. “And this is going to be a [Biden] administration where I’m going to be disagreeing with where they’re taking us on a lot of issues and policy, but I would like to think that we’re never going to question their fidelity to the oath of office.”

After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.

In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action. Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open.

However, we made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules entirely and cannot use Twitter to incite violence, among other things. We will continue to be transparent around our policies and their enforcement.

The below is a comprehensive analysis of our policy enforcement approach in this case.

Overview

On January 8, 2021, President Donald J. Trump tweeted:

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

Shortly thereafter, the President tweeted:

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

Due to the ongoing tensions in the United States, and an uptick in the global conversation in regards to the people who violently stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, these two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks. After assessing the language in these Tweets against our Glorification of Violence policy, we have determined that these Tweets are in violation of the Glorification of Violence Policy and the user @realDonaldTrump should be immediately permanently suspended from the service.

Assessment

We assessed the two Tweets referenced above under our Glorification of Violence policy, which aims to prevent the glorification of violence that could inspire others to replicate violent acts and determined that they were highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

This determination is based on a number of factors, including:

    • President Trump’s statement that he will not be attending the Inauguration is being received by a number of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legitimate and is seen as him disavowing his previous claim made via two Tweets (1, 2) by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dan Scavino, that there would be an “orderly transition” on January 20th.
    • The second Tweet may also serve as encouragement to those potentially considering violent acts that the Inauguration would be a “safe” target, as he will not be attending.
    • The use of the words “American Patriots” to describe some of his supporters is also being interpreted as support for those committing violent acts at the US Capitol.
    • The mention of his supporters having a “GIANT VOICE long into the future” and that “They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!” is being interpreted as further indication that President Trump does not plan to facilitate an “orderly transition” and instead that he plans to continue to support, empower, and shield those who believe he won the election.
    • Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.

As such, our determination is that the two Tweets above are likely to inspire others to replicate the violent acts that took place on January 6, 2021, and that there are multiple indicators that they are being received and understood as encouragement to do so.

Seven Foster-Care/Adoption/Child-Welfare Things That Caught My Eye Today

Foster care was always tough, one more reason to vaccinate children, and more.Foster care was always tough, one more reason to vaccinate children, and more.FeedzyRead More
Full content below:

1. New York Times: Foster Care Was Always Tough. Covid-19 Made It Tougher

“When a young person ages out of the system, we have in many ways already failed them,” said Rita Soronen, president and chief executive of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. “But this is even more true right now — there’s nothing like a crisis to show how truly vulnerable this group of young people are as they transition to adulthood.”

2. Child Welfare Monitor: Hidden child maltreatment: One more reason to vaccinate teachers and open schools

Data from around the country clearly show that child welfare agencies received fewer reports, conducted fewer investigations, and made fewer findings of child abuse or neglect in times and places where schools were virtual. This fact adds to the many other reasons to open all closed school buildings as soon as possible. Opposition from teachers and their unions has been a major reason for keeping schools virtual. It is understandable that teachers were reluctant to return to buildings. But now, availability of vaccines makes it possible for schools to reopen throughout the country without endangering teachers–as long as all teachers are offered the vaccine before returning to classrooms. The high costs to students of closed school buildings, among which undetected abuse should be included, mean that we should not wait any longer to bring students back to school in person.

3. Naomi Schaefer Riley: When It Comes to Intimate Partner Violence, We Can’t Overlook Child Well-Being

Leave aside for a moment the trauma of witnessing violence, it should be acknowledged that kids who are living with men who beat their mothers are much more likely to be abused themselves.

Though the USA Today authors argue that “the child welfare system re-victimizes battered women,” the goal of child welfare is not to punish or reward mothers’ choices, but rather to protect children. It is hard to write an article from the perspective of young children, but that seems to be what’s missing here and in so much other journalism about intimate partner violence.

Suspensions are temporary things. They have a definite start and offer the idea of an end at some point.

sus•pen•sion sə-spĕn′shən n. A temporary prohibition or exclusion, as from attending school or enjoying a privilege, especially as a punishment.

Why did Twitter Safety find it important to call this a “permanent suspension” instead of the complete ban that it is?

Well, the left does like to redefine the meaning of things, words and actions.

Video footage tweeted Friday appears to show a crowd surrounding and harassing Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham at the Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.

Video footage Mindy Robertson tweeted appears to show law enforcement escorting Graham through the airport as a crowd seems to be harassing and following the South Carolina senator.

“You traitor, you traitor. You traitor, you’re a traitor. Lindsey Graham, you are a traitor to the country,” one woman said during the video.

“You know it was rigged, you garbage human being. It’s gonna be like this forever wherever you go for the rest of your life,” the woman said during the video.

Hundreds of rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol building during a march against the Electoral College’s certification of the presidential election results on Wednesday. Capitol hill staffers were reportedly told to evacuate due to a suspicious package.

Graham, who has been a supporter of President Donald Trump, said Wednesday that he couldn’t object to the election results certification with some of his.

During the airport incident, a woman yelled “audit the vote” a few times, and called Graham a “piece of shit,” the video shows. Robinson tweeted that Graham missed his flight.

“You son of a bitch. You better join Gitmo. Fucking asshole. Piece of shit,” the woman in the video said.

Politico reporter Daniel Lipmann tweeted video of the incident appearing to show a crowd surrounding Graham chanting “traitor.”

Graham’s office and Robertson didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

It May Be Impossible to Start a Senate Trial before January 20

This would push an impeachment trial past Trump’s presidency. This would push an impeachment trial past Trump’s presidency.FeedzyRead More
Full content below:

My understanding is that, since the Senate is in recess, it would take unanimous consent for the Senate to start a trial before January 20. Assuming the House moves ahead with impeachment, Chuck Schumer might try to get unanimous consent at a scheduled Senate pro forma session next Thursday, but if so, a Republican will almost inevitably object.

This would push an impeachment trial past Trump’s presidency, and mean that Senate Democrats would have to largely spend the initial days and weeks of Biden’s presidency litigating Donald Trump’s misconduct, rather than confirming Biden appointees or passing Biden legislation.

They may decide that it’s worth it anyway, but it will mean that Biden’s promise to turn the page from Trump and return normality to Washington would be delayed, when a president usually wants to rush to get things done in the early days when his influence is at its highest.

Washington, DC — As the events at the Nation’s Capitol are fresh on everyone’s mind, activists are using them to renew calls to abolish the police.

Melina Abdullah, a leader in the Black Lives Matter organization, has said that the events in DC were a white supremacist coup attempt. She continued that police supported the white supremacists and enabled a violent siege on the Capitol.

No Title

Yesterday’s attempted white-supremacist coup is yet another reason to #AbolishThePolice. Police didn’t just “not do their jobs.” They supported and actively enabled terrorists and took part in a violent siege on the U.S. Capitol. This is who they are. They cannot be reformed.

Abdullah argues that police are white supremacists by nature, that are simply beyond reforming. The problem is Abdullah leaves out key details.

Abdullah fails to mention the dozens of officers that were hurt in the encounter and the one that lost his life. She failed to mention those that risked their lives to diffuse two pipe bombs that were found. Their actions no doubt saved the lives of people of all colors in DC that day.

President-elect Joe Biden pandered right to the group in his statements as well. He suggested that police would have treated those who were rioting very differently if they were part of Black Lives Matter.

No Title

No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protestors yesterday that they wouldn’t have been treated very differently than the mob that stormed the Capitol. We all know that’s true – and it’s unacceptable.

These officers were simply doing their job, risking their lives each day as they always do. This was never about race, it was about safety. They will respond no matter which side of the political spectrum the bad actors are on.

It is time for our society to stop trying to politicize law enforcement. These brave men and women deserve our respect and appreciation for what they do. We have often heard you reap what you sew. Rather than trying to make law enforcement a hated enemy, perhaps we should try to sew the thoughts of appreciation for what they do.

The Plan To Move Forward With A Trump-less Government

The events over the last few days are really interesting. We all knew Wednesday would be historic, but not for the reasons that it will go down in history. Jared shares that Mike Pence did exactly what he expected him to do. Mike Pence does not view this as a slam against President Trump.

Ariel Pink defends supporting Trump on day of Capitol riots, insists he ‘peacefully’ rallied at White House

Musician Ariel Pink responds to backlash about his attendance in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to show support for President Trump.

Musician Ariel Pink clarified his showing of support for President Trump in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, the same day protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol building resulting in riots and at least five people dead.

Social media users began criticizing Pink, 42, after a photo surfaced on Instagram that appeared to show him and musician John Maus along with filmmaker Alex Lee Moyer at a hotel in the city.

Pink, an indie artist, responded to the chatter by claiming he was in fact in Washington, D.C., but instead of going to the Capitol building he stayed on the White House lawn.

“i was in dc to peacefully show my support for the president. i attended the rally on the white house lawn and went back to hotel and took a nap. case closed,” he responded to one of his followers.

When the same follower accused Pink of “putting others at risk by being at such a massive gathering” amid the coronavirus pandemic, the musician said attendees “deserve whats coming to them.”

“They took the risk knowing full well what might happen. BLM protests over the past 6 months are not informed about the pandemic?” Pink responded.

As fans claimed to have photographic and video evidence from Moyer’s now-private Instagram account of him at the Capitol building, Pink continued: “proof that i stormed congress. yeah i don’t see it. are u suggesting the congress building has a bed and breakfast we somehow got access to”?

Meanwhile, in an emailed statement to Pitchfork, Moyer claimed to have met with the musicians in the city to discuss a project unrelated to Wednesday’s events. She then “felt obliged to record what was happening” in Washington, D.C. as the events unraveled.

A look at Pink’s Twitter account shows he’s been vocal about his support for Trump. On Thursday, the artist tweeted, “vote for Trump.” He also previously shared his stance on Joe Biden’s presidential win.

Congress certified the Electoral College vote that gave Democrat Joe Biden his presidential victory on Thursday.

Of Biden’s impending presidency, Pink said he’s come to the “sober realization that this is probably worst possible scenario.”

This is really frightening to see…

It’s truly unprecented for officers to hold people captive in their hotel rooms, especiallly when they appear to have done nothing wrong.

Twitter users were also horrified by this shocking display by police.

Isn’t that kidnapping or holding someone against their will!?

This is just the start of the full blown American police/millitary state. I truly think that was the reason behind today.

Since when has the hotels been more important than the Capitol??

Why didn’t any of this police activity take place in the city’s that were burned to the ground and people’s lively hood went up in smoke? This all looks sooo staged!?
